Based in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, Cross Road offers pick up / drop-off and guided tour services at tourism spots of the Hida Area, including Okuhida Onsen-go Hot Spring Village and World heritage-registered Shirakawa-go Village. Our mission is to meet a wide range of needs from foreign customers who wish to experience Japanese culture to domestic customers who hope to re-discover the charms of Japan.
We endeavor to provide not only safe and comfortable pick-up and drop-off services but also guide services to convey the regional history, culture, and charms of its nature, in order to make sure that each of our customers’ trip to the region a special one. We offer a smooth sightseeing experience without language barrier.

古い街並み
Old townscape
江戸時代から続く伝統的な商家が立ち並ぶこのエリアでは、歴史情緒あふれる風景を楽しみながら、飛騨牛の串焼きやみたらし団子といった地元グルメを味わうことができます。また、日本に現存する唯一の江戸幕府直轄地代官所跡である「高山陣屋」では、当時の歴史を感じることができます。
In this area that features traditional merchant houses from the Edo period, visitors can savor local delicacies, such as Hida beef skewers and soy sauce-flavored (non-sweet) skewered mitarashi rice dumplings. At the Takayama Jinya, Japan’s only existing magistrate’s office site among the areas under direct control of the Edo shogunate, visitors can feel the historical background at that time.
白川郷
Shirakawa-go Village
白川郷は、世界遺産に登録された「合掌造り集落」が広がる魅力的な観光地です。茅葺き屋根の家々が立ち並ぶ風景は、四季折々で異なる表情を見せ、訪れる人々を魅了します。特に冬のライトアップイベントでは、雪景色の中で輝く集落が幻想的な美しさを演出し、多くの観光客に人気です。
Shirakawa-go is an attractive sightseeing spot of a sprawling village with gassho-zukuri (style with a steep thatched roof resembling the hands in prayer) farmhouses which was registered as a world heritage site. Showing different beauty in each season, the landscape with traditional thatched roof houses standing side by side fascinates people who visit the village. Especially in the winter light-up event, the village shining in the snowy landscape produces wondrous beauty and popular among many tourists.
温泉めぐり
Hot spring tour
古くから湯治客で賑わった平湯温泉、福地温泉、栃尾温泉、また雄大な北アルプスの景色を楽しむことができる日本唯一の2階建てのロープウェイがある新穂高温泉など個性豊かな温泉地がたくさんあります。
There are many hot spring resorts with their own unique attractions, such as Hirayu Onsen, Fukuchi Onsen, and Tochio Onsen, which have long been crowded with hot spring visitors for spa therapy, as well as Shinhodaka Onsen, the only hot spring with double-deck ropeway from which visitors can enjoy panoramic view of magnificent Northern Alps．
飛騨古川
Hida Furukawa
重厚な白壁の土蔵が連なり町内の瀬戸川の清流にはたくさんの鯉が泳ぐ古川町。毎年４月には一大絵巻を広げたような絢爛豪華な屋台絵巻と古式ゆかしい御神輿行列と起こし太鼓で有名な天下の奇祭と称される「古川祭り」が行われます。
Furukawa Town features a stretch of white-walled stately storehouses and a clear stream of the canal called Seto River with many carps swimming. In April every year, Furukawa Festival, one of Japan’s most eccentric festivals, is held which is famous for its dazzling “yatai” float parade that resembles unfolding a huge gorgeous picture scroll, the traditional procession of the “mikoshi” portable shrine, and fearless “okoshi daiko” drum performance.
北アルプスエリア
The North Alps area
飛騨地方の大自然を満喫するなら、標高3,000 メートル級の山々が連なる「乗鞍岳」が外せません。四季折々に変化する雄大な景色を楽しみながらのハイキングはもちろん、夜には満天の星空観察もおすすめです。澄んだ空気と壮大な自然の中で特別な時間を過ごせるスポットです。
To fully enjoy the Hida region’s nature, you might not want to rule Norikura-dake out, which is a stretch of 3,000 m-class mountains. Not only hiking while enjoying seasonally changing magnificent scenery, but also star-filled sky observation is recommended. This is a spot where visitors can have a special time in the crisp air and the majestic nature.

Gourmet cuisine of the Hida region
地元の特産品である飛騨牛グルメを堪能してください。柔らかく風味豊かな飛騨牛は、焼肉や寿司といった定番メニューはもちろん、ハンバーガーやコロッケなど、幅広い料理で楽しむことができます。またあっさりした醬油味の高山ラーメンもとても有名です。
Please enjoy Hida beef cuisine, one of our local specialties, to your heart’s content. Hida beef, which is soft and rich in flavor, can be enjoyed in a wide variety of dishes, ranging from regular menu items, such as yakiniku (grilled beef) and sushi, to hamburgers and croquette. Also, light and soy sauce-flavored Takayama ramen is truly recommended!
